GameofMetal is 100% right. Audience relevancy is the most important thing to establish. If the information isn't relevant, why read it? I recommend putting the personal details in the final paragraph. Since the final paragraph is normally a rundown of everything you've established, you can implement some subjectivity and talk about your personal opinion more often. If you've ever written an essay or plot analysis before, it's pretty similar in format. One thing I have problems with when reviewing is describing how music sounds. This is another crucial bit to include in your reviews. You did a great job in your body paragraphs, but keep focusing on describing the feel and tone of music. Once you nail that, you're good to go. Most other issues can be fixed by writing reviews more often.

My first and second paragraphs were meant to set the tone for my excitement at the prospect of a new State Champs albums right before I see them at Warped Tour (arguably one of the main aspects of getting into a band of their ilk is the live experience imo) vs how low my expectations were knocked going into the album after the lead single came out. I was more focused on setting-up my experience going in that I, mistakenly, didn’t even really think of the audience relevancy, other than hoping that maybe some could relate, but I understand now why I probably should have reworked those paragraphs. I was also having a hard time deciding how exactly to describe how music sounds, so that kept me from going as in-depth as I could have. Thanks a bunch for the feedback!

You have the right idea about the first paragraph. Including the Vans Warped Tour isn't a bad thing. When writing your introductory, the first couple sentences are used to hook readers into your review while providing general info about the album specifically. You can define the band later on in the review, but your primary focus is why this album is relevant and what the album is about. The body paragraphs can get into some trademarks of the bands style and tone while fleshing out their history. This is mostly secondary information that can fluff out the paragraphs.

This album is literally All Time Low's "Don't Panic!" part two.

I prefer don’t panic to nothing personal. Nothing personal’s pop sensibilities bothered me even when it came out. Definitely had a couple jams tho. Both albums would benefit (or the opposite) from a respin tho

Feldmann's tracks absolutely FUCK this album... literally takes like .5-1 points off the rating. The guy needs to be fired he just pisses me off at this point. They were so bad that I could actually be like "this is one of the Feldmann songs" while listening to the album and I was right EVERY. DAMN. TIME. He's such a fucking boring producer.

Agreed for the most part. The only song I liked that had any involvement from him was Something About You. But yeah his influence certainly dragged the album down as a whole. I desperately want him to stay as far away from pop punk as possible forever.

The production comes off generic. Pop-punk is one of those oddball genres where the production can't bee too clean or too dirty. Bands like All Time Low and Fall Out Boy basically had pop level production, which is what bands like State Champs use. I'd like to see them scale down a bit and focus more on adding some depth to their sound. I don't like the produced "whoa-oh's" and super clean guitars. They need some crunch to their sound.

sempi you are so right about Feldmann. You could play me 100 songs with just 1 Feldy song mixed in, and I could spot it out instantly. The guy ruins everything he fucking touches.

I lik pop punk a lot that has production similar to the album Not Like This by Iron Chic. Random example, but has just the right amount of roughness around the edges for pop punk imo

I never liked F.O.B so I can't say anything. Pop-punk was never prominent in my playlist aside from 3 or 4 bands.

I'll see how they do live. Their new album seemed okay. I haven't binged it fully. I've listened to the first 4 songs so far.
