Don't agree at all with the negativity thrown at The Cool. "reminiscent of the most insufferably overblown ideas that bogged down The Cool". What? That album is perfect

Cripple is my jam. The intro reminds me of Biggie's Suicidal Thoughts but then it morphs into this fancy ass hotel lobby boom bap.
I love this Lupe, not the Lupe that tries to make every song a single (Lasers).

please buy the album btw. Lupe released this totally indy DIY and sold like 5k only which is a fucking shame

Wav is good but Mural is hot garbage so I dunno if I should listen to more of this.

Jr is a slight disappointment compared to the OG Mural but it's a great tune in its own right

I don't see any comparisons to TPAB at all unless you wanna just say "well it's about black struggles."
This album isn't funky or West Coast based like TPAB. Sonically I don't see any comparisons unless you wanna point out the jazz instrumentals, but even then Lupe is staying pretty simply while TPAB is basically a tour de force of every instrument they could find.

I prefer this to TPAB. Probably my fave Lupe. Tetsuo is close though.
