I still don't get why you don't like Opeth, they're uber godly.

And yeah, I finished listening to this stuff. I like Track 14, dunno the name and I'm too lazy to check. It's that filler thing. But yeah, this is pretty godly too.

"Hero", is an awesome song. It's too bad it's not on this one.

Slightly late, but I wanted to make a few comments on this.

Firstly, great review. But there are a few things I'd like to note:

Firstly, there are two guitarists. Robert does in fact play guitar as well as provide vocals.

Secondly, Johan is not the bassist on Redeemer. Redeemer was recorded before Johan joined the band, at the time the bassist was a gent named Kahl. The third album is in the works, Johan will be providing bass for that album.

This is the second album to be released by Machinae Supremacy, this particular album (Redeemer Underground Edition) was released by the band themselves and is primarely only available in the webshop on www.machinaesupremacy.com now. The album prior, Dues Ex Machinae, had a few online and a couple local sources. (Both of which I highly recommend though, they are both excellent albums).

I am happy to say the band is now signed with Spinefarm, so Redeemer Retail Edition will be hitting stores all around in November. The retail edition does not include Fury, Kaori Stomp, or Empire; but does include a track called Ghost. The third album will also enjoy a much larger scale release under the assistance of Spinefarm.

As for Hero, it was indeed a long time ago voted best song; but I believe that was prior to Redeemer releasing. Hero, along with many other tracks, are all available as free downloads in the archive on their website. Some of these tracks were popular among gamers, such as the Great Giana Sisters cover as well as the Sidology tracks, which cover multiple music from various video games. These tracks were never on an album and were always and will always be free releases for the website. The majority of them were also written and recorded before any of the albums were ever released.

I've never had an interest in this genre, but if this album really is that good I guess I'll check it out. Great review, duh.

Listening to this full album reminded me of why I never fully looked into these guys. Having only initially heard an instrumental, I was impressed and so I looked for more.

This album is an instant reminder of why I never got further than the instrumental track I'd heard. It's repetitive. Their singer sounds like the guy from Billy Talent, but whinier. They Sidstation also gets old really, really fast.

I can understand why it's loved, it just doesn't do it for me.

Awesome review, don't have this, but I downloaded their first album 'Deus Ex Machinae' from Last.Fm, and it's almost perfect.

[EDIT: Oh, and I downloaded the 'Jets'n'Guns' soundtrack (also by MaSu). Haven't listened to it yet, but hopefully it's pretty good, although I don't think there are any vocals on it, being made for a videogame and all.]

The guitarist does solos on about half (or more) of the songs on DEM, and they're all great.

I guess I'll get to the point, you all should check this band out. This Message Edited On 01.23.07

This album kills omg. It's the only power metal album I own that I can easily listen to all the way through in one sitting.

These guys are amazing, easily one of my top 5 favorite bands ever.

I just downloaded their previously unreleased songs from their site, and it only made me love them more.

I still have to get this though.

I don't know if this has been said before, but the vocals sound like a whinier Daniel Gildenlow of Pain of Salvation, but iss all good.
