13 Months in 6 Minutes is an emotional behemoth and I don't play it nearly enough as much as I used to, and this is how we go back to it.
"You could easily fall in love with this record and not even know what half the songs are going on about"
Basically the whole experience, haha. I've been hearing something new every time I put the album on and it's been years at this point

Love the jarring nature of that siren thing in boys you wont. What a way to clear the fog and bring out the bare bones angst

gonna revisit this soon. it was a solid 4 for me, but I heard it for the first time in the past year so there's plenty of room to grow

I cannot stop playing this album. Find a new favourite song everytime.

right, i think some of the initial highlights are pretty obvious, but even the faster tracks have a way of sticking. The lyrics on those are pretty interesting and are worth a look at. Also recommend any fans of this to read stereogum's 2013 feature on this. Great incite from the band/album history.

That moment where "happy" finally breaks into that kinda jarringly upbeat last guitar riff, starting with that little "ah"- man, that's one of my favorite moments in any song, ever. I'm from New Jersey and I think this is prob the quintessential post-2000 New Jersey album. "The Monitor" is prob the only one I can think of that gives it a serious run for its money.

man you fucking hit the nail on the head with the review. I agree with you that the strongest tracks are earlier on in the record but it truly is a wonderful collection of songs. Charles posted on fb on the 16th that it'd be the last june 16th before the record will be released, here's hoping!

“the last june 16th before the record will be released”
next decade it is then

I feel like Charles has said a lot of 'this is the last x before the release' and none have been true so far. Still, I buy it.

I can never listen to songs of this album independent from the entire album, it always calls for a full listen
