Excellent review Dew! Glad I didn’t type one up for this. I haven’t gotten my ass kicked this hard by a record in quite a while. If you like fight riffs are you aren’t listening to this band, you are fucking up hard

"just a nitpick but there isnt an HM-2 anywhere on this record..."

Man I would have sweared... Gotta investigate. Thanks for pointing that out Hyperion.

@Voivod, I guess Century Media means no more bandcamp for the lads

the hm-2 has a very specific distortion sound that's instantly recognizable, and it's mostly used for swedish-styled retrodeath. very treble-y and "buzzsaw", to use the classic description. this is more bolt thrower and mortician worship, i don't really hear any swedeath tones tbh.

but like i said just a nitpick, it's not really that big of a deal lmao.

That's actually true, now that I think about it, the HM-2 has more treble to it, while this sounds more... muffled? bassy?

Anyway, yeah it's hard to guess what they using then, could be a digitech DDM maybe, I don't know. Well, I'll leave it until someone from the band calls me out with the correct info lol

I bought an HM-2 but quickly sold it because everything sans the 2 thickest strings sounded like farts. Maybe the one I got was faulty though idk. Album is pretty cool. Agreed on thrower of bolts worship

back when i was in college i was living with some guys in a rather well known death metal band, and their first few records were definitely going for that swedish death sound, so they had a couple of hm-2's and they were honestly the most hilarious guitar pedals ive ever come across. they literally only worked if you turned every knob up to 100% and honestly still sounded like shit for leads.

basically unusable unless you're going for dismember worship but if you ARE going for that sound, there is no substitute.

This shit just sounds so bland and generic to me. Another dm albums where I can't distinguish one song from the next. They may as well just be repeating the same 30 seconds for 40 minutes straight. Sweet album art though

butt.
