Excited to hear this if only to have another excuse to listen to “How Not to Drown” repeatedly.

Death Stranding is my favorite Chvrches song. Haven’t even played the game but that shit pulls my heart strings. Got some of those same vibes on this album. Big fan. Will have to give it a real listen soon.

It's not bad. I was bored of it by second listen, though.

Nice review Jesper (as always)!

Do you think I'd like this? Never checked this artist and am undecided if this would be my thing or not

Very glad to hear their ominous tone is back from their debut. Also their heaviest percussive, I think

This is a really nice return to form and has some of their best material to date for sure. Could maybe in the future see a 4.5 for it

“Could maybe in the future see a 4.5 for it”

It’s been the opposite for me. I gave this a 4 right off the bat but thinking of bumping down to 3.5. Man when I first heard these songs, especially the opener, it felt like being hit by some of the best shit ever. But then I’ve replayed that song and the others and while, far from bad, and still great, they just have yet to recapture that initial spark. I think I had Bones at 4.5 when I first heard it and now it’s also like 3.5-4 so I figure this will follow suit. Still a fabulous release from them and makes Love Is Dead sound like the fluke it is.

loooooooooooved Lullabies and Final Girl. wish the closer had like 2 more minutes to just explode into electronics like Crystal Blue or something, was really digging it and then it just ended.

I was expecting it to be a little darker overall. it's still lacking something that the first two had. and I think my expectations might have been a little too high but this was still really good/consistent. also, idk if they got the track order right
