After "The Zephyr song" things go downhill. This is probably my least favorite Chili's album with the exception of One Hot Minute. I just can't get into many of the songs as well as the production.

This is my favourite Pepper's album. Just the sheer simplicity of it all. Very solid throughout too, whereas Californication lags horribly towards the end (I Like Dirt, anyone?).

I personally think Dosed is one of the best songs of their career (at least from the five or so albums I've heard). It may just be me, but their funky heyday 1988 I want to party on your pussey stuff bores the hell outta me.

I would say dosed is one of the better songs on the album, but probably not one of the best of their career. As for the older stuff, its was more about fun. It wasn't nearly as serious as their music is today. The Uplift Mofo Pary Plan will always be a good album and an enjoyable listen.

My favorite song from their funk era is their cover of Higher Ground.

this is underrated. the singles are all awesome. 'Can't Stop' is my favourite song by them and one of my favourite songs ever, and has some of the best lyrics ever (not from a creative/poetic/elitist standpoint, I just find great meaning in them personally).

I'm not a huge fan of this album, but it has some awesome tracks, a lot isn't anything special though imo. but yeah, Can't Stop is probably my favorite chili pepper song too (seems to be everybody's).
I also really love This Is The Place.

I surprisingly come back to this record all the time. I could die for you is just such a fantastic song.
and about the whole topic earlier about "no album with 16 tracks can be good". Two good examples to argue that: Sign O The Times, and London Calling. This Message Edited On 01.12.09

By The Way, BSSM was the first album that Frusciante wasn't new to the band because he played on the previous album Mothers Milk.

I really wish that guys would post more intelligent comments rather than very useless "i hate this band" nonsense that I usually see some people post around here. It is good to say what makes you hate the band because that will make you look a lot more intelligent.

Great album. My favorite Chili Peppers release, probably.
Dosed is their best song.

Album brings back good memories. I always really loved "This is the Place." Song never gets any recognition, but it might be my favorite here.
