kind of the whole vibe of this era is “old guy im tired metal” which is what gives it its charm.

this isn’t as good as eternal hails but it’s still some good shit.

didn't like as much on first listen but it warms up after that. Vocals do come off a bit tired and not mixed in as well.

Don’t worry, Darkthrone are a deep cut black metal band, I’m surprised you’ve even heard of them at all tbh

You know that you are reading nonsense when you can find lines like these inside the text:

"Since the release of The Underground Resistance the influence of iconic heavy metal bands (most notably Iron Maiden) has left a mark in Darkthrone's style..."

Nope you won't find a glimpse of iron maiden's music in any darkthrone album.

Or this:

"while especially Eternal Hails saw the inclusion of elements taken from classic doom bands (like Trouble, Saint Vitus, etc.)"

Neither Trouble nor Vitus...

It's just purely Celtic Frost and Bathory inspired music, diversified into punkier doomier or blackier versions.

That's what Darkthrone were are and always will be.

So calling anyone a poser who doesn't like this album is the right way to express disagreement? Sorry, but I hate this. And yes, I'm a bit sensitive in that matter.

> ive only heard like 5 darkthrone albums im slackin hard

"Don’t worry, Darkthrone are a deep cut black metal band" [2] That's okay, many of their stuff is not for everyone.

By the way the album is solid and you'll realise it with the passage of time when your expectations won't be unreasonably high. The only issue lies with the final track which feels rushed. They had an amazing idea during the end but they got lazy in their attempt to find some descend riffs that could carry you there.
