This is a pretty emotional album for me, might not have that same effect on you, it might, I dunno. Still pretty good music though. Never heard of Nortt before, if they're like this I might like em.This Message Edited On 08.27.08

I don't think you can really compare Nortt to these guys, both bands aim to achieve different things. Either way, I like this album better than most of the Nortt I've heard.

There are only four types of metal I can't get into (and I can even get into some deathcore, not that any impresses me all that much).
Those types are:
-Power
-Black
-Doom
-Drone
I assume from that I won't like this album that much.

You're missing out on some of the best metal there is if you can't get into any of those genres.

There are a lot of reasonably accessible bands from each of those genres which you'd have no problem listening to (except maybe Drone).

Nah @ Hawks

any recommendations rapsutin? (black metal I do like Windir, some Dimmu, some CoF and hybrids like Finntroll, Withered etc.)
I know Cradle aren't proper black but yeahThis Message Edited On 08.27.08

nightwish - oceanborn for power

transcending bizarre - the serpent's manifolds for black

I can't help with drone

drone's not really something I want to get into right now anyway tbh & the same for power, Nightwish really don't do it for me.
But I'll check out Katatonia and Transcending Bizzare. This Message Edited On 08.27.08

To name a few.

listen to rasputin too, though some of those doom bands may have too long of songs for a new guy, but those are all quality recs

I might look into Blind Guardian actually, I've heard good things from non-power lovers.
Ulver I'll look into as well, and even though I don't like Doom I love a bit of death/doom (weird I know). Daylight Dies etc rule so I'll check out these other recs too.

Yeah this album rules. Reminds me of Leviathan a little bit. I'll definitely check out Springtime Depression soon.
