As much as Caliban has been growing on me lately, The Awakening is far from being the best the German band can do. Some songs do stand out ("I Will Never Let You Down" in particular), but overall this review pretty much laid out the shortcomings of this album.

Only heard Gravity and wasn't super into it. I remember someone commenting on one of their threads 'fuck this band listen to Heaven Shall Burn instead' so I was like sure why not and listened to HSB, and I don't think I ever came back lol
Anything else worth checkin by these guys? Besides this probably, based on last few comments

i am nemesis and say hello to tragedy probably my two fav releases by these dudes. they don't break the mold in anyway but i they do have some sweet songs

There was some def standout stuff on here. Might bump to a 3 5 on another listen and will try those, too
Kinda wish they wouldn't mess with the clean vox stuff. I feel like they aren't great at the transitions from heavy to melodic. I know that was one of my complaints on Gravity but this as a whole is def a better listen

the screaming guy has taken over the cleans now and he is a lot better. if you've ever seen live clips of these dudes it always sounds like the cleans are playback

The harsh vox were def what got me interested in them at first, for sure
The clean sections def sound better on this one than what I had heard, so that makes sense it's a different guy
