I'm not a Korn fan...Life is Peachy was the only other one I could stand, but this is a good album. Maybe I feel this way because I'm an NIN fanboy.
I love NIN too, but so far I've disliked everything I have heard off this album.

well, I find it hard to like a band that actively plagurise another one.

and don't start giving me crack about how you bet there's plenty of bands I like that have ripped other bands off. the point is, is that there's a way about going about your music that can still be honest and intelligent and this definitely does not seem to be it

Bitch, We Got a Problem screams NIN.

The atmospheres on almost every song sound like The Fragile.

imo they didnt copy of nin at all, hate em or love em they do there own thing, but john did get sum help with his lyrics which shits me a bit. i was suprised with this album but its nothing special. it might be better if theyd strip it down a bit and stop trying so hard to make it dark. This Message Edited On 08.09.07

Evolution is sure a catchy track and a great first single.

I quite like 'Kiss' actually, quite experimental by their standards. There's even a solo 3/4 through the song :-O

A lot of the other songs sound quite repetitive though, mainly due to the guitarists recycling a lot of riffs

im a fan of korn and it seems like this reveiw was put here to bash korn.

i agree that alot of people think of them as a joke now but they where never fans in the first place more like people who just agree that the older albums are better then the newer ones.

i like the new album, it took a while to sink in but its good and a much better album then ther last.

i just tend not to follow trends though as people somtimes say things and think a certain way because the majority of other people do.

and i dont think most of the staff reveiwers on here or at least the two ive looked at write objective reveiws which is key to writing a good reveiw. its a shame.

solid review, good length.

saw the making of this album on tv and i actually thought it wasnt that bad. compared to their recent stuff i think that this is slightly better, some catchy songs on here that were stuck in my head awhile.

also, terry bozio's drumset looked pretty sick.

Well it's not a GREAT album, but what Korn cd has ever been?

(thats just my opinion, so don't hate me for saying there hasn't been one GREAT Korn album D

I'd still give this a 3/5...it's not a fail in my books, but yeah, this album does get boring...but it's not too too bad.

Good review, though

i'll have to hear it for myself.

i was a big fan of untouchables and see on the other side. issues is the one for me though.

i like korn's older stuff too. i think korn is for people who like them and if you don't like them don't expect something that will blow your mind.

i really liked see you on the other side cause it went beyond john's child abuse. it seems to be about a girl (or girls) and his interaction with them. open up reminds me of someone i knew.

i haven't heard anything off this album, but being a korn fan since 1999,i'll have to at least give it a listen.

Yea Korn is definitely a love it/hate it band. My friend is a die-hard fan of Korn but for the life of me, I just can't get into their material

I can see why people don't like this band and don't like this record.

Having said that, I really like this and believe it's their best.

AtavanHalen, just out of curiosity, what makes it the best, in your opinion?

I don't mind the album, which is why i gave it 3/5, but it's hard to call it there BEST. just curious what makes you think so :D

I love the atmospherics in it (the intro, the song Kiss, Do What They Say etc.). I love the catchiness that is there throughout the album which, to me, just isn't on any of their other albums bar the singles. The guitar isn't all chug-chug-chug either, so that makes for a better listen in my opinion.

I've never been massively into them, but this record just does it for me.

Andrew, the person who reviewed this album, obviously didn't really listen to it. First of all, misquoting song lyrics is a big red flag. Also, I can't even begin to express how absolutely sick to death I am of the constant exaggerations and generalizations about Korn's music--particularly Jonathan Davis' lyrics. All I ever hear from the naysayers is "oh he whines about his childhood/teen years." Let's see, I can count on literally one hand the songs which lyrically stem from his childhood or younger years (and even they are about very different things). The constant teen-angst pigeonhole is not only false, but it's tired.

The reason Korn are around today and still completely relavent is because they are ever evolving. Since day one they have been unique and innovative, and they remain so to this day. Every album has been different and this one is no exception. If you find it boring, that you're opinion and you're entitled to it, but make sure you know what you're talking about before you speak about them.

Oh and by the way, the song "Bitch We Got A Problem," is about schitzophrenia, so I fail to see how being in your 30s and writing a song about such a disorder is unusual or immature.
