I like Gn'R but I prefer some songs over others on this. Cats in the Craddle... would have been a good idea on this CD. And as for that whole greenday arguement, thats a whole other thing. They are popular cuz they know what ppl like, as did Gn'R, so they could only be blamed for applyng themselves to the majority. Neither band could, nor should be compared

I think that if your gonna write a review you should probably know a bit aboutthe cd or at least the band first.for instance izzy stradlin left the band several years before they recorded 'aint it fun' and that sweet child o' mine was written about axl's girlfriend but her name was erin everly not michelle and the song 'my michelle' was written about a friend of axl's who probably didnt even have the name michelle but he just used it.i disagree with the review although there could have been better songs i think its still a good cd or at least better than you describe it

Yeah most of what i wan't to comment on is on the first page... just so ya know. Dudes these comments are all kinda sad and for gawds sake this is a C.D review not an argument between two women! I think the review was kinda bad, lacked a sense of emotion and feelin for the music your talking about. Greatist Hits is a great album although i agree they coulda left out the covers an it may not be your favourite songs but lets face it all of the songs still rock! To an earlier comment Axl's voice is ace! No-body i know sings like him. Oh but i can't stand Live And Let Die it either doesn't work with G N'R or it's just a bad song... Also to an earlier comment you really should know the lyrics if your gonna write about em and im sure everyone whos even heard of G N' R knows the chorus to Paradise City! l8rsThis Message Edited On 03.14.06

has anyone noticec that greatest hits aren't best songs. But then agen in this band's case, best songs are still mainly crap even if they are not on this album.

its an album review, not an editorial. your too busy focusing on the meanings on it all, and not just listening to the music. You talk about how they should leave some songs off the thing, but i dissagree fully. Mr. Brownstone? Rocket Queen? Estranged? and how dare you criticise classics like yesterdays, could you even dream of writing half the music of that quality?

Although this album doesn't have some of GnRs best work, its still a good album.

Ok review...

a decent compilation some questionable absences estanged for example and there are to many covers on the album and all the good songs are on the first 2/3's of the album still worth a listen tho if you want to discover one of the best rock bands in history

the cd needs more hard rock stuff not all this classical guitar stuff. Guns n Roses are made to rock and i hate band that try to be emotional they would do so much better if they stuck to the hard core riffs and fast guitar solos

this is one of the best albums of all time and anyone who thinks otherwise is full of shit. however, even though the first 9 songs are classics, the last 5 should have been
-Nightrain
-Don't Damn Me
-Out Ta Get Me
-One In A Million
and
-Mr. Brownstone

I can't stand GnR.

Maybe I'm adopted?

I don't like this album at all, and I love GnR. It's all hits and fluff, no substance or depth. Either Use Your Illusion would be more enjoyable. Personally I think Slash gets way too much of Izzy's credit. Izzy actually wrote and sang some song providing a much needed break from axl wacky voice. I find the material Izzy wrote adds another dimension to GnR.

If I had my way this album would have Coma, Estranged, Breakdown and Garden of Eden on it.

The song goes
Take me down to the paradise city
Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty

Apparently, the original lyrics were:
Take me down to the paradise city, where the girls are loose and they got big titties

I always sing the original lyrics when I'm around my friends because they hate the original lyrics. They say they don't fit as well as they modified ones do. But I don't care. I think they're a riot.

Your shameless endorsement of such outwardly offensive and sexist lyrics is disgusting. TRY AGAIN.
