With Smith and Oberst, the nods to Dylan were based primarily on their genre and songwriting/lyrical techniques

im not seeing this, particularly with elliott

right. which chan marked up as the musicianship etc that's generally lacking with dylan. it's obvious what's appealing here, it's just the musical attitude and vocal delivery are so similar...
