I definitely think this CD deserves a lot of good criticism. I listened to this Cd and they instantly became my favorite band. Their self-titled is a lot better then this. But like many have said...it beats out Steal This Album by like a billion times. My personal favorite on this cd areToxicity, Needles, and Forest. I rate this album an 8/10. Why that after such good remarks. Well Shimmy, Bounce, X, and Jet Pilot were in my opinion songs that didn't need to be there. If anything they should have replaced each with songs on Steal This Album like Innervision, F*** The System and others...

this cd i think sucks really bad. i think soad sucks really bad

.... my opinoin

Umm, very... unelaborate. However, I agree with you. I think that the "singing" in this album is the most attrocious stuff I've ever heard, the constant tempo changes give me a headache, the repetetiveness is dizzying... I just don't have much good to say about it. Everything is incredibly unoriginal, and completely uncreative.

...except Aerials. That song is awesome. The singing is actually singing, (even if the words don't make any sense), and they don't just play a ton of nonsense as fast as possible.

Ok, I don't get ppl who way SOAD play fast and change tempo a lot. They actually play mostly in the same tempo on ALL their songs and it's 4/4. Their songs are fun to play and their slower, more melodic stuff is awesome - Spiders, Aerials, etc. And them being unoriginal is just a plain dumb statement, they are one of the FEW original metal/nu metal bands out there, Serj's singing is like no others and the riffs are unique.

Overall, it's a good album. The only song I don't like at all is Jet Pilot.

When i first herd this C.D. i was very impressed (concidering i was listening to Satic-X then). It was a good album....but it lacked in talent and excitment.....but the songs are fun to play..
i'd perfer to listen to Cannibal Corpse....now thats a good C.D.
Bloodthirsty.....oh ya....

the cd's a good cd. it has that nice arabian vibe to it and i like songs with that. The drums on that album are really nicely tuned which adds to the cd's "goodness"

it's a really good album, my favourite SOAD album actually
i really like SOAD, they can always come up with these arabic-sounding tunes that offer variety to their albums, then come up with such great singles such as "chop suey!" or "aerials"

I wasn't a big fan of this album ...

untill i saw them perform it live. It was amazing. Forest = WOW.

NOT THAT I, OR ANY OF YOU, DO ...
but if someone were to occasionally become chemically altered and listen to music, this would be a good one for the list.

deer dance and forest are my favorite songs

Still neither of the other two system albums comes close to their self-titled. (adds in the song metro to the self-titled cd)

SOAD are one of the best bands to see live. They can get a moshpit jumping hard when they are playing their best tunes. And as for the album, a classic cd, at least in my own collection. Hopefully their next will take them further.

This is definatly nu-metal Kaden, but this is an ok cd. Last year i was really into nun-metal, but now i just listen to slayer. Good review though, i liked it a lot.

I am a hardcore rock fanatic and this intoduced me to metal. When i went on to other stuff in metal i was disapointed. SOAD actually has a singer that is worth a dam, unlike most metal. Also they don't have to have a million things going on like most metal for it sound "good". Plus, sometimes you just have to have some songs that are soft, and a band has to have the ability to change quickly to soft, most metal doesn't do it. Also unlike most metal, the lyrics have a purpose.

Trust me i have gave metal a chance and the only bands i have found that i like are SOAD and Dream theater.

Of course that is my opinion.

i thought it was a fairly entertaining album, but i dont understand why everyone makes such a big deal of their guitarists and his riffs, i mean he does have an original sound but alot of them sound the same and they are as simplistic as linkin park. plus he is garbage live, i think the singer and drummer are the only real talent in the band, but thats just from what ive seen.

"Toxicity" Has been one of my favourite albums since it was released. It blends pretty much everything i want from music into one big package. Its not my favourite System album (STA! takes that for me) however it still is bloody marvellous. It blends politics, melody, humour, power, chaos, quirkyness, spirituality and strange time signatures into something (in my opinion) cohesive.

Live everytime i have seen them (3 times to date) they have been astonishing. The passion and the beauty in their performances was just amazing.
