Not me, he doesn't sound mature enough in the old stuff in my opinion.

he sounds more like a man and less like a whiny emo kid in this

I'll keep saying it, not to take away from anyones opinion, but the layering and the vocal work as a whole on this CD sold me, I just WISH that they woulda tossed a bit more time in on the instruments..would have vastly improved on this CD, just some noodling and wankery woulda been beautiful

Woah, I started listening to Seven Hours, and this is way different from the Caveat Emptor/Far From The Lies days... I never listened to "Go West", so this is a huge departure from the sound I'm used to. But you can still hear a little bit of the old style in his scream, the strain/rasp is still the same, even though he is more tolerable now, unless I'm in the mood for soaring post-hardcore a la Underoath clones :P

Not awful, but not brilliant either.

I agree, the vocals are incredible, but there isn't enough melody. It's unfortunate, it would have really improved the album. I still love it, though.

Agree about no melody but I disagree about this being a 4

Yup, it grew off me quickly, the vocals are still catching me when I have my Ipod or Itunes on shuffle, but fuck. there's a smattering of songs I can actually fully enjoy.

so sad, when a good band flows so heavily down the drain.

NRNR is a purpose departure from the typical Greeley Estates; the band as a whole decided to take a different route. The whole concept of the album is alot more 'raw' and Greeley really do well to pull it off, they go for the jugular so to speak.
However no album is perfect, and they do fall short instrumentally and many people that I have spoken to miss Ryan's clean vocals. Personally, I really did enjoy this album; everything was right for me but it seemed to end rather quickly.
