I still need to listen to this but I'm lazy. What would you guys compare it to?

i'm no specialist to the genre, but this is great

A pertinent quote: Nicholas Jaar is like a better and more credible James Blake

More diverse as well.

Have you heard his Darkside EP? That's the best of all his releases this year, if you ask me.

^ Whoever said that is clearly a bit of a ledge.

I'm listening to this right now and I don't see how you could say this is anything like James Blake except for the fact that it is kind of experimental with his vocal cuts.

He is similar to James Blake in that they put the focus on their respective voices, on top of the electronic compositions. It's not like they're carbon copies or anything

Yeah but with that you could say M83 is like a more fun James Blake, when that still wouldn't make very much sense.

Probably most similar to Ricardo Villalobos

Jaar and Blake share the aesthetic of crafting weird pieces with pop hooks out of varied electo acoustic instrumentation. Jaar has a more continental (Berlin) influence on his sound and thus retains more traditional structure, whereas Blake gets lost in his own world, sometimes for good, and sometimes for bad

His 2011 EP is probably my favorite work by him so far. I've listened to it 15 times in the past day.
