We approach music in a similar way, even if our tastes differ and i'm more inclined to look for strong production qualities and force myself through stuff i'm not comfortable with more often Haha, what a back-handed observation ;)
Guys, one question, someone has bumped my sound off, I don't know what it means. Is it "agree" or "disagree" ? The soundoff with the most 'bumps' is at the top of the album page... basically you're trying to bump the soundoff you like/agree with to the top by clicking that.

Then go eat shit. Problem solved.

Hahahahah...so funny. Good one! I haven't listened to kmfdm since Angst and Nihil. I think it's time to try this one.

no condescending insult intended, if you read it that way

i dont know.. i prefer the sounds of dont blow your top, money, vogue, and maybe adios... symbols was a half ass effort that was overshadowed by the epic single, attak & ww3 were just meh at best, and blitz didnt stand out too much either. i just gave this a half assed listen and it didnt catch my attention like the earlier releases did... guess i never really looked for the whole buzzsaw scene with them and instead searched for a more of a dark disco vibe.

guess i never really looked for the whole buzzsaw scene with them and instead searched for a more of a dark disco vibe That's what I was thinking when I was reading which albums you liked. My first introduction to this band was "A Drug Against War", so that's always the basic sound I've associated these guys with.
no condescending insult intended, if you read it that way I didn't think it was intentional or mean-spirited or anything.

"how is this crap considered metal??? this is god awful! id rather eat shit than listen to this gayness."
The need to associate musical genre with sexual orientation is really funny in this sentence.
It's true that I tend to feel less manly when I listen to KMFDM, I should stick to unearth. They make me feel like a real man.

It's funny that KMFDM is introducing EBM elements into some their songs now. I think it's all for the better. Solid album, throuh and through; it's perhaps their best since Attak.

I'm not sure saying that it is their best album since "attack' is going to encourage people to listen to it.
I hope they are going to do a disco remix of "Take it like a man" as for "Strut."

I agree. I thought the album would die on me quickly but actually, I'm appreciating it more the more I listen to it. Once the disappointement of the lack of complexity past, it is a very enjoyable album. And yeah Panzerfaust kicks ass.

It's a cool album. It shows that maybe there's still life left in there. Hopefully they don't just fall back to the same old thing on the next album.

Meatplow: What previous albums would you say have EBM elements?
|
| |
they always had dancey synthpop elements peppered throughout their earlier stuff, I would never call any of it pure EBM but still
Naïve & Money are a good example
|
| |
also, I have to begrudgingly admit I like this the more I listen to it
even Rebels In Kontrol

I never listened to those as much, but I still wouldn't call the sound EBM. WTF?! Sounds like KMFDM have been listening to some industrial of the last ten years and taking a cue from acts like Combichrist and Aesthetic Perfection. Influence has come full circle.

many of the industrial metal bands of the 90's had their roots in the overlapping 80's EBM/Synthpop/New Wave pie, industrial was largely dominated by these genres back then. It is a lot more diverse than some give it credit for, and KMFDM's earliest releases such as Opium were definitely more about this than the industrial metal sound they would later come to define themselves by.
