b.y.o.b. is cool. One of my favorites of Mezmerize (only sad statue is better).

I honestly cant help but mention how great the whole double album connection feature is. The additional flap Hypnotize brings fits into the inner pocket of Mezmerize, and when closed, it makes a nifty dual-album formation, making it one, and not two. neat, eh? Right?

^ I was wondering if they would connect. I was sure they would since Mezmerize's packaging was weird, but now it doesn't matter because I'm never going to get Hypnotize.

You said "He also mentions bananas and 'beating the meat'. Must be an Armenian thing". That made me laugh as well as the communist sentence, but you should know, "beat the meat" means masturbate. This Message Edited On 11.23.05

great review. This album has some decent tracks, I like Mezmerize more though, this just seems like a rehash. I know it's a double album and all, but releasing two albums worth of the same material over the course of a year doesn't seem like a bright idea on their part.

ive come to the conclusion that the album is ok. and i have to say that this serj and daron duet thing doesent work either, they aint no layne staley and jerry cantrell. the thing is daron is good when he sings a little bit (like needles) but he is nowhere close to the superiority of serj's voice, its so much better and unique. also very dissapointed with the continuation of soldierside and the fact that there are no death metal like growls in this album. mez/hyp are both on the same page...
|
| |
Oh! and by the way THEY RIPPED US OFF! they could have put all mez/hyp songs on 1 album. for shame...
|
| |
This album is decent in highest respect. Daron should stay on guitar, his voice is too overpowering and annoying. I find the vocal driven stuff on Mez/Hyp totally owned by the headbanging riffage found on Toxicity and Self-titled. Have System ever done an instrumental (without that Arto guy)?

I want to buy this cd, but I have to get it burned...my parents think that listening to parental advisory music means that I'll kill myself.

i reckon that everything but attack an dreaming on this album rule, personally i reckon everything but 'steal this album' is really gd.
honestly i reckon stealing society is a great track, what's wrong with it
great review though

Here are my favorite songs off of the album and why:
Kill Rock n Roll - "Eat all the grass that you want, accidents happen"
Tentative - The main riff is killer
Vicinity of Obscenity - Everything. My favorite song on the album.

The Solo in Lonely Day was beautiful it just flowed with everything, and Soldier Side is a song that really makes you think about how ****ed up our situation is in the world today. I really didn't like U-Fig it lacks something that most of the other songs on the album have but that is the only song I really dont like.
|
| |
YES!!! u are so right. i think U-Fig is the worst song on the album, if not that they have made

"U-Fig" is average for SOAD to write in my opinion. I think Hypnotize's worst song is "Lonely Day". I liked it when Daron Malakian sang in "Lost In Hollywood", but he totally ruins "Lonely Day". However, the instrumentation is so good that I don't want to skip the track and I can really relate to the lyrics. This Message Edited On 11.25.05

i think U-Fig could have been erased from the CD, and if it had, he CD would be much much better

Nah, I just think they could've improved on "U-Fig" more. I find it listenable, I just thought it needed more to it.
