Fen of Shadows is one of the best songs I've heard so far this year, the other two tracks are dope too.

Not sure if I'd classify all these new songs/sound as just ''thrash metal/blackened thrash'' though. All of them have a more bleak and polished vibe even compared to their previous melodic thrash stuff, and looking at the tracklist, this new album is going to feature longer track runtimes compared to their usual relentless, straightforward thrashy sound here or on Beyond the Permafrost.

Still, looking forward to Devouring Radiant Light m/

I agree this is just straight up fun blackened thrash, the new stuff is almost like atmospheric thrash metal lmao

Ambient thrash sounds like an interesting thrash subgenre and the future of modern thrash once the well-known ''spacey thrash'' sound (Vektor) becomes stale and very imitated lol.

Edit: Wow didn't see how many times I wrote the word ''thrash'' in this comment haha.

These guys are the future of the genre imo. One of the only bands doing something original and unique with the trash sound.

Yeah these guys have an identity compared to other thrash revival bands thanks to their interesting mix of melodic blackened thrash.

I thought the spacey thematics and sounds were considered the future of thrash, especially considering that it already has some imitators/similar bands; Black Fast, Euphoria, Vexovoid (especially Vexovoid) and to a lesser extent Gross Reality (they're more of a melodic thrash/power metal band, but they adopted spacey atmospheres and galactic sounds on Escaping Gravity).

Really like the new one a lot. Not huge on the production, but absolutely a worthwhile record nonetheless.

I'm still undecided about what to rate the new album. On the one hand, I really dig the change of sound and can see the album making it to my top 10 list this year, but on the other hand I wouldn't go as far to say that I enjoy it more than their blackened thrash stuff (which is still pretty good and stellar imo).

Nonetheless, I'm glad that the guys have gone beyond their blackened thrash formula and refreshed their sound at this point in their career, something not many modern thrash bands have been able to do.

Fen of Shadows, The Vault and Sacred Soil are potential SOTY contenders imo.

Where Paradise Fades and Temple of the Sun are awesome too.

I'm gonna try to make a write-up for the album next days. Really dig it a lot.
