Maybe he doesn't like the incorporation of synthesizers in their music. Somewhere in Time is definitely up there for me though.

Somewhere in Time kicks serious ass and is the stepping stone for Maiden to reach their undeniable progressive masterpiece 7th Son of the 7th Son.

Di'Anno is an acquired taste.

Especially if Dickinson is the first Maiden vocalist one has listened to.

Anyone listened to any of his solo material? He toured down in Aus recently but I wasn't really interested in seeing him.

i also prefer Paul Di`Anno to Bruce Dickinson and this album is just amazing. the title track and prodigal son are easily my favorites but the rest is pretty solid to.
great album. great review.
(i don`t know if it is possible, but if you can please rectify: it`s Dickinson, not Dickenson)

This is a great album that brings back awesome memories! I enjoy the first one more but just by a little bit. As far as drummers go, Nicko McBrain is much better technically than Clive Burr although I enjoy them both. Also, Bruce Dickinson is one of the best metal singers of all time.... though Di' Anno's voice fits this music just fine. Purgatory and Killers are nothing short of incredible!!

I actually prefer Clive to Nicko, but Nicko was still great.
