Been jamming this bad boy repeatedly again lately. To think these guys released five great rock albums during the '90s, oh man.

Oh yeah, same here Mansog. Rock solid band, great material. I re-visited them last week, and remembered seeing Teenage Wasteland on MTV all over again! Ha-ha I was hooked and reeled.

A Sir lord baltimore song influenced that awesome main riff from the t/t. They basically stole that riff. So these guys were jamming Slb. How awesome is that !!

Indeed, it's identical! Can't remember when or where I found an interview of his but Dave is actually pretty knowledgeable, a student of music.

as he should, every musician must be open minded and explore as much music as possible

Powertrip was my first MM and loved it but this is actually as great for me in a more psyched out, spacey manner.

Absolutely. Which makes me so angry when I read responses from musicians that "they don't have time to listen to new music" or "they don't want to be influenced" like there's parthenogenesis in music. And then they ask from fans to buy their music even though they admittedly buy one album/year.

"well, they live through the sales :P"

which is exactly the reason why they shouldn't admit that they rarely buy/listen to new stuff haha

How did it take me like a decade to realize Negasonic Teenage Warhead is a completely blatant rip off of Tales of Brave Ulysses by Cream?

Like it's not even subtle.

Oh wow, good call. The chorus of Negasonic is still sex though.

This band are kinda hacks, even if they're easy to forgive as they're quite tongue in cheek/fun. They do rip off quite a lot of other songs in their work to the point I think they actively trawl for song ideas off others.

Can't remember exact examples but they're def there.

Could never get into this one, but Powertrip is the jam of all jams.
