The way in which vocals are seen as "unbearable" in this album by some is sort of similar to that of Varg Vikernes' early-career shrieks. For me the vocal delivery on A Umbra Omega represents that of a tortured soul, warped beyond sanity, basically losing his mind. It's really a love/hate relationship, and I discuss this same idea with other people when talking about Burzum's earlier material, where we all disagreed as to whether Vikernes' vocals were suitable for the accompanying music.
Oh and to the guy who said this album would seem pretty cool as an instrumental record, I'm inclined to disagree. Whilst the musicianship and instrumentation here is frankly amazing, it really wouldn't be as enticing for me without the vocal delivery. It gives the record that extra "pizzazz", if you will.

This sounds really great so far. The vocals remind me of Mr. Doctor from Devil Doll, which can be extremely polarizing in nature. I happen to love them and am trying to seek out more bands utilizing that style. Ashenspire is very similar, only this album is more off the rails.

NO ONE IS REAL, NOTHING IS UNREAL!
man in just a couple years this thing broke my top 5 metal albums. 'twas made for my nerdy ass taste lol. it's so funny too. honestly it seems like the vocal performance comes more from a place of bitter sarcasm than anything 'dark' or 'evil' per se

"Aphelion Void" & "Blue Moon Duel" are the pinnacles of this album.
I love this so much. Almost like a second 666 International.

3.5 = great, and this album is great.
Maybe 666 will grow on me more in the future. This left a much more immediate impression on me than when I first heard 666.

666 is a grower. At first I stopped that after 2 mins, haha! But on my second listen it hit me like a tons of bricks - and still does. And I'm everytime amazed by the fact that 666 was released 20 years ago...
I was hooked by A Umbra Omega instantly, but I prefer 666 because its madness.

666 is a mix of Type O Neg with Trance music at times...love the piano sections. I'm having a blast on first listen...pure blasphemy .!.

Anyone to talk about this band? I mean, it's not even Xmas anymore...
I'm digging a lot 666 and the previous one is underappreciated imo...I get severe Akercocke vibes with this band (which is a band I'm crazy with). Getting on this one asap. TKS garas for the rec (you dropped the bomb and left!!!)
