In the indie rock spectrum, probably Pavement's "Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain" is a strong contender.

Cut Your Hair is far from the most impressive songs on Crooked Rain, to be honest. It's insanely catchy and has a great melody, but it can't touch Elevate Me Later or Gold Soundz, to name a couple.
