Yeah I hear the John K / John Darnielle comparison a lot and I see why.
For me, Samson is slightly the better songwriter and easily the better vocalist, but then his output is nowhere near as prolific

...seriously? This has a 3.6 average, 46 votes and only 1 review?
And Science Fiction has a 4.2, over 900 votes, countless reviews, and was only released a month ago?
What dimension are we in lol

it kind of sticks out like a sore thumb on this record, but i do like Vampire Alberta Blues and appreciate John K for 1. getting a wee bit political on that track and 2. his love of Neil Young.

Fellow Traveler always puts me in a good mood. I got to (briefly) meet John in 2012 before a show and it's one of my favourite pictures I have.

This album is such a subtle grower. It's so simple but Samson's vulnerable vocals and lyrics are magical.

Maybe a controversial statement but: this is a top 5 folk album of the decade. Easily stands beside C&L, The Wild Hunt, and Wheel.

fully support this getting bumped. Saw John tour this on election night November 10th 2016, such a unique and tense experience. "Select All Delete" was so eerily applicable the next morning.
