This review makes me hope this sounds like the stupid rock opera from that stupid episode of bojack horseman

I mean yeah but 70 minutes of Starset is too much to ask of anybody

It's meant to sound awful: "Owl City's tribute to nu-metal." That's a burn.

Not a bad review, although I disagree on many points. I don't like "Vessels" as much as their first album, but I'm still enjoying it a lot. Monster, Back To Earth, and Into The Unknown are three of my favorites from this album.

Yeah, those are some of the better ones. I think "Into the Unknown" could have been the best song on the whole thing, but Bates' voice isn't up to snuff. Michael Barnes of Red on the other hand...

I'm going to have to try to listen to this when I'm not at the gym, but the production of the album kind of felt overwhelming compared to the first album. For most of the album, the vocals seem to be buried under the instrumentation and effects.
That said, I do like "Back to the Earth", "Monster", and "Telepathic" off the top of my head.

I actually think the production is dialed back a little on here compared to the debut.

Yep, definitely agree, GiantSpeck. The better tracks are the ones where the production is toned down.

"Owl City's tribute to nu-metal."
^ That made my otherwise shit day a bit better. Hahaha.
Anyway, album's okay.
Seems like the same song over and over though just done differently each time - hoping one would be a hit I guess.
It's not awful, just exhausting.
I might like some of it.
