Meh, been an NIN fan since Broken but I just can't get into this. Experimental... ok... but it just feels droning and lacks energy to me. Not to mention I really dislike the dragging trumpet sounds.

Its actually saxophone. And you cant go into this expecting Broken or TDS. Trent doesnt have the level of anger in him to make another album like that. Plus trying to repeat the past tends to have mixed results anyway. Just look at Born Villain

I really love Ahead of Ourselves, and the rest is great too. I think a 4 is appropriate honestly
Giving Not the Actual Events, Add Violence, and Bad Witch a listen all in a row like 1 album currently to see how it flows and it's flowing pretty well so far

The album is very forgettable when all's said and done. It's a good album, don't get me wrong, but what does it actually do? Nails have done this before. I like their new sound, but I'm not amazed by it. The songs are fine, but I won't ride home about them. Their confident musically, but they always were. I like it more than the previous EP's, but at the same time, this doesn't deviate too far from those. The concept is great at least. It's basically a Nine Inch Nails album.
