I clearly hear something different to the rest of you guys in NIN. I like the inventiveness of this ep, but just don't like the songs. They are still as awesome as ever though, especially live.

I keep thinking that I am a NIN fan. But I have only really ever enjoyed two releases out of everything he's done. The rest is fine but never that great.

It's definitely my AOTY, i'm a sucker for NIN, and this one is an incredible release.

"add violence was a complete snore for me. NTAE was definitely a step up from hesitation marks, and bad witch is at least as good as YZ"
Hesitation Marks has plenty of bangers, man. I think it's treated quite unfairly amongst some NIN fans.

Copy Of A, Came Back Haunted, All Time Low, I Would For You, In Two = Bangers
Find My Way, Various Methods Of Escape, While I'm Still Here = Beautiful, atmospheric NIN
Definitely the most grower NIN album.

My theory is that some fans demonized the album a bit because of "Everything."
Satellite is a banger as well.

I wouldn't call it *the* album of the year. It's certainly in my top picks, but far from the best of 2018. That sounds kinda harsh, but I think the album isn't as big as it should be. I get the praise for it. Bad Witch is certainly a quality, creative, and deep album that exceeded everyone's expectations. I simply don't see it as a pinnacle record. It's not a turning point or catalyst for anything new or adventurous. Nine Inch Nails has done this better in the past. Why should this be treated any different than a Nails album?

I bought this the other day, but haven't listened to it yet. It looks like the casual fans hate it and rym loves it. Both good signs.

Bad Witch is very Bowie-ish, and not industrial like at all
Love the direction
hesitation marks is pretty good tbh [4]

I think it's a good album when all's said and done. Casual fans hate everything because they started listening to music in 2008. It's not the greatest thing on Earth, but it does its job in setting a new path for the group. I don't think it's a very interesting album, but I've revisited it a few times. Nothing can emulate Downward Spiral so fans need to let that go. Nothing will come close to it, nothing will match it, just move on.

What's really incredible is The Downward Spiral has not aged a day.

NIN haven't felt adventurous in a long time, I think. I love all of their releases, but they haven't felt as fresh as in this one in particular. Bad Witch is a 30 minute curveball for me.
