Cassadaga is his best by a mile. Hard to believe this tops it

Digital ash is the best followed by lifted then fevers

Interesting to see everyone's favorite. Lifted has always been mine but I genuinely enjoy all of them for different reasons. Even Letting Off the Happiness scratches the lofi indie itch (like early Elephant Six Records albums).

You honestly rate Collection of Songs... above Digital Ash, this one, and Cassadaga? Maybe I should give that LP another shot.

I fell off after Digital Ash, so early BE was my hayday. A Collection Of Songs fucksssss. "Saturday As Usual", "I Watched You Taking Off" and "Feb 15th" are some of the best BE songs imo

with all love that ranking is absolutely wild lol, Christmas Album above anything and People's Key above Cassadaga is insanity. Collection has it's charms but it's basically a compilation of demos, I can't in good conscience put it up against of the albums with a full band
as for F&M I love it and I can see why anyone would have it 1st but I think I came to it a bit too late cos the melodrama makes me roll my eyes out of skull at some points

Yeah, I wish I discovered Fever in my teens. It would have been a 5 for me then.

Faraudo shares my passion for this. Feel the exact same, this is 100% his best work and phenomenal front to end.

First few listens this felt a bit jumbled to me. Now it feels super cohesive.

This is a damn masterpiece. I can't stop listening to it and when I'm not listening to it I'm thinking about the next time I'll have a chance to listen to it.

I’m so happy to see how much you’re enjoying it. A lot of places seem to be lukewarm on it. But I think it’s so special and I’m so glad they’re still making music.

Most of the time I try to toe the line on opinions because music is totally subjective, but I can't see how anyone is lukewarm on this unless (1) you hate cinematic endings, or (2) you hate having/feeling/witnessing emotions of loss/sadness
:D

This is pretty cool but I think they can top it. This seems like they are just getting their feet wet.

I feel the opposite. Can't imagine them topping this. Maybe if Oberst started screaming or something, atop the same orchestration. That's literally the only way this could become more emotionally impactful to me lmao.
