I like the OG Linda Claire a lot more. Not sure if this lived up to the hype

Enjoying this a lot but it is hard to shake the feeling that if it had come out 20 years earlier it would be filed away as a reasonably energized [insert favored heavy choruses band] rip and maybe given a THPS soundtrack spot out of pity before disappearing forever

I didn't think about Deftones a single time until everybody here started using it as a lazy reach lol

This is like Hum worship with post-hardcore thrown in. But I do understand that any band with the faintest whiff of atmosphere has to take their lumps with Deft comparisons

This was surprisingly entertaining, though I'm left wanting more by the end tbh

I haven’t heard anything from this but Kiss the Ladder and didn’t vibe any Tones from it, but I still stand by

“I just wanna confiscate every band’s Deftones and Linkin Park records 😔”

metal + shoegaze mixes can be really hit and miss for me, I feel like some bands try to hard to sound pretty and don't really let the band's sound do most of the work. This has a nice balance of having a soothing aura while still having some aggressiveness and energy.

Also I really like these guy's sense of rhythm, both in Vein and this

“compare every djent album they ever heard to Meshuggah”

Djent would be way better if more of the bands sounded like the Shugs and if they cut the scenecore

The only part of Deftones influence I get itchy about is the Chino horny-asthmatic croon

Only if I can do so breathily. And I mean itchy negatively

Loathe is way worse than this is tbh. This isn’t bad, it’s just lowest common denominator and basically one step above something you’d hear on your local radio rock station

This is 1000000x better than what the average radio rock stations play nowadays.

"We're the (stupid radio station name), and we play the most heavy deranged music on planet fucking Earth!"

Then they play 21 pilots or Imagine Dragons or Green Day
