It just comes down to do you like the band or not. Someone could critique them on being overly formulaic but there's prob bands that person likes that are also overly formulaic but it's not a issue with them. If you don't like something your always going to find some kind of excuse but It might not nessaceraly apply to another band you like that is the same way

Yes of course that's true. But I think it still can be a reason for disliking something. If that thing they're doing isn't your thing, it doesn't help that they're always doing it.

this band is both overrated and underrated at the same time.

they are popular and mainstream now, and mentioning them in any actual metal circle is normally met with criticism.

however, especially this album and vs the world are honest to god amazing melo-death releases. they riff so hard, song writing is excellent, and its catchy, emotional, powerful and unique.
