That has to be a bot. No way a real human being typed that out.

Truthfully not that surprising. That's just your average sput-NPC that doesn't listen to rap.
|

how much of the new one did peggy produce with him? can’t seem to find that out
|
| |
only John Wayne I believe

bruh I just found out Denzel's tagged "experimental"
also herebedragon's pie chart is the snobbiest looking thing I've seen in a while. I can imagine him saying that soundoff with a goofy victorian accent

His soundoff makes absolutely zero sense anyways so who cares lol

somehow my interest is admittedly piqued even though I'm not a fan of any of denzel's previous work and it's because of him as a rapper and not incidental stuff. still, against all odds, will cheqq

the new one is the first of his I have been in to at all - the singles (Walkin/Zatoichi) really caught me off guard and got me hyped a few weeks ago...still riding that high haha

check the singles first, that'll give you a good gauge on whether the new one will grab you

I'm just listening to it now
I have some snarky shit to say about how you just throw robert glasper credits on your album to signal sophistication and a Fresh psych- / jazz-inflected approach to your musical practice but I'm also one song in
but I did kinda go "ugh" when the very first song of an awaken my love (tho that album doesnt have him lol) style light-rebrand featured glasper. he's kinda boring

the second song is cool tho

there's a diff song that the sample on "walkin" reminds me of
it's also a hip hop song. maybe "r4 theme song"? but I think the song I'm thinking of is more harmoniously lush like this one

new album is huge - just spun it again on my walk this morning. Early AOTY contender honestly.
2 potential duds on the tracklist (Worst Comes To Worst/X Wing), but otherwise I can't imagine the flow of this record without every other moment. Curry is on top of the world here.

the female vox that come in on Sanjuro always make me laugh. Especially when her parts echo in the right channel ("quick paaace!"). Sounds like they grabbed some random chain-smoker off the side of the street and said hey wanna rap on my new track

Sunshine State, good sir.
|

definitely enjoying the new one so far (my first experience with him)
