This album is horrible from what I've heard. Just lame chugga chugga technicallity. Honestly most of these chugga death metal bands (for lack of a better term) need to learn how to write interesting music. Albeit I'll give them credit for being good at their instruments but then again so many people are anymore.

Decent album, was obsessed with it for like a week, but now i can not stand to even think about it. Keep in mind i got the album when it came out and have not listened to it for over 9 months. and dont think i will ever again

This band is not good at all.Talented they may be its still Generic and boring. Meh to this band.

Pretty good review.
They are a tad bit generic, but I've only been listening to metalcore a year-ish and so I don't have as many other bands to reference, but I definitely see what you mean - they don't break the mold.

That isn't to say that this album isn't fun to listen to. I'd say it's plenty.

i dont really think this band sounds like the black dahlia murder all to much, the lead singer sounds way diffrent IMO his lows and highs sound alot diffrent, i enjoyed this album but its only good in short bursts every now and then the breakdowns are great and the drumming is stellar and the guitar work leaves alot to be desired but they pul off some catchy stuff and i think its cool that the bass guitar is actually audible, id say give um time and there next record will be sort of there breakthrough as a band

The Black Dahlia Murder are not good in my opinion, though As Blood Runs Black is god aweful.

i loved the album. even though it's somewhat generic, they play it well.

Who the fuck cares about what 'scene kids' may or may not listen to. What matters is, do you like it. I like a lot of the supposed scene bands, and Im definitely not in any sort of scene. Except for my own anti social one. It pretty much boils down to who does it well. I saw these guys live before I ever heard anything from their cd and I have to tell you, they do this genre well. They play their shit live just like they do on their cd, and for that I give them credit. They may not be the most original band in the world but at least they play what they like, and well. That being said, I think this cd is pretty good. Its nothing that has changed my life or anything, but I like it and listen to it on occasion. "Oh, but their scene kids." Grow up!

generic band, but they do what they do almost perfectly. definitely worth a listen. the breakdowns are fantastic (even though i realize a lot of people hate breakdowns) and the drummer is talented. i like the lyrics too. there's not enough bands these days with positive lyrics.
