No Mono is better than this. The crescendos are so perfect. Like the end of We Flood Empty Lakes and the 3 minute mark of Illuminate My Heart.

I would take GY!BE over these guys but they're in their own league really.

Not including Godspeed, this is definitely my favorite post-rock album.

I really can't decide. A Song For Starlit Beaches is definitely my least favorite (or really just the least memorable) but the other three tracks are pretty much perfect.

Well that's good, because I have the EP so that's the only track I haven't heard, haha. But yeah, it's been a long time since I've listened to these guys, I should get back on it. Apparently they started some "preliminary" recording in September, so hopefully a 2010 release?

yeah right, perfect intro, perfect album. Starlit Beaches could actually be my favourite.

but oh my god, how did they get that absolute tone at the start of Illuminate? best guitar tone ever.

At one point in time I think I would have been able to pick a favorite song, but now they all seem to flow so well with equally enjoyable sections throughout. This remains one of the only albums I can actually listen to and quite literally love every single moment of it, even the silences seem well placed. When I get off my ass and decide to be more productive I am definitely going to post a review of this.

The only album I can think of at this point in time that I enjoy equally, if not possibly a little more than this as a whole is As The Roots Undo.
