Prong's latest album ''Power Of The Damager'' (industrial half/thrash), pretty good stuff. And a ''rare'' melodic death/balck album. Pretty intense stuff compared to other melo-death bands. Plus, Destruction's Thrash Anthems has been a favourite lately.

Nah, it's not rare, but the album is called ''Blood From Stone'' and the band is called The Moaning.

8 minute thrash songs is just pathetic, considering just how repetitive they are

ok this comment is based on the songs from this album they played at the camden underworld, london, last week....

for me their newer material just seems bland, dont get me wrong its all well and good, solid foundations are there. Nothing seems to stand out and they just blurr into everything else out there in the same genres?

The same sentiment I expressed for the new Testament offering applies here as well. I don't know what's been going on with these older, more established Thrash bands, but they've been churning out the best material of their careers. By far. And, who would have thunk it? Masterpieces, this far along the timeline? Problem for me is that I never really was a huge fan of the Thrash Metal of old because of how thin the guitar tone was. It was too punky and not nearly heavy enough for my taste. A lot of it was Metal, without the Heavy. But, the last three Exodus albums have been everything that the old Thrash recordings were not. The addition of Rob Dukes on vocals has given a tremendous push to this band and brought them up to a level that only bands like Testament, Slayer, Megadeth and Iced Earth are on. The last three discs are what folks should be looking at, with 'Shovel Headed Kill Machine' probably being the most consistent out of the three. But, this one is a close second. The only problem here is that the songs are long, so when a song is weak, it's weak for a long time. LOL. But, thankfully there's really only two of those. 'As It Was' and 'The Garden Of Bleeding' are the only sore spots here, but tracks like 'Riot Act', 'Funeral Hymn', 'Children' and 'Iconoclasm' more than make up for the mediocre stuff. And, besides the significantly elevated level of writing displayed on this album, 'Tempo' and 'Shovel Head', the production value of these discs are off the charts. These are the most bone cruchingly intense records I've heard since Testament's 'The Gathering'. I love this album. And, I would definitely recommend it....along with the new Testament and the latest Slayer, Iced Earth and Megadeth albums as well. This Message Edited On 05.09.08

Well...in my opininon this is the one of the best thrash metal albums in past few years, but it is truth, that I am not so well educated in thrash scene too.

This album does take a serious effort to get in to but anyone who makes that effort will find some serious quality underneath what does initially seem boring.

Love this album. Reviewer probably wants to listen to 3 minute verse/chorus/verse/chorus Linkin Park tunes.
