I've seen those. I think he's best when he does vast landscapes like on the four phantoms cover. But the way he paints human anatomy seems unnecessarily crude.

finally was able to get past the vocals and give this band a fair try. glad i did because this doesnt seem to be any ordinary black metal band, the songwriting is fantastic. it seems very well thought out. i even like the vocals now.

Agreed, they are hypnotic. I also like how dagon doesnt confine himself to one style. Like most of this is pretty "kvlt" sounding but now and then he'll throw a curveball. Like the initiation has that folky sounding part, and solitary death has that funeral doomish outro, and then hail the cult is almost an ambient track. He even throws in some catchy/groovy riffs now and then. Cant wait to dig into the rest of their discog.
