"There was news footage of morons lining up at record stores first thing in the morning on the news over the weekend, all waiting to buy this.
I felt sorry for them."

AC/DC are an energetic, fists in the air rock band made for the live arena. They were always supposed to be a little ridiculous, and they never intended to be taken seriously as musicians. Anybody calling them outright terrible based on their collective album output or their status as rock legends amongst the mainstream is being a little harsh, disliking them is fine but denying their influence or ability to get a crowd going is pure ignorance.
They've released the same type of music over and over, it's what they know, and what their fans will appreciate. Outsiders need not apply, just get a copy of their greatest hits CD if you like the stuff you've heard and let that be the end of your association. Otherwise, nitpicking them apart is being petty and beating a dead horse.

who said im a metalhead? my favorite band is Green Day for goodness sake!

I don't understand why people say that you need to respect AC/DC, like they've really given a lot to the world of music.
They have given a lot.
It just all sounds the same ;)
Seriously, it's more respect in the sense of letting their fans get on with it and moving on to your own musical interests rather then outright bashing a band over and over. You don't have to recognise their place in the world of rock that has been established by other people if you don't want to.

Incorrect.
Linkin Park have released their best album and are at their peak of success.
AC/DC have released their worst and are still filling out the same soulless venues they have 30 times before.

Partly correct, Linkin Park have released their best album but it was way back in 2000 and they peaked a long time ago.
