They used a tamburo, by the way. Not a sitar.

Can you notice Hakius is gone? Loved Bhimas Theme and Flight of the Eagle

nah it's not noticeable at all, drums are drums, Hakius didn't have any distinctive style really

I'm glad Om have a new one out. I'm not much for stoner doom, but Om are something special. Better than Sleep in my opinion. Good review.

that's pretty lame...going to my profile to attempt to bag me with a "speaking of rubbish" list, only to discover that my music tastes are similar to your own besides the odd folk album, but you still post it in a failed attempt at ridicule

um i already knew what your tastes were so there was no 'discovery', and your tastes aren't similar to mine at all - i'm not a fan of any of the bands you like nor do i like most of the albums you have positively rated. dolt.

similar as in genre specific on a whole...as i gather, you are too elite for most people on this site

in regards to this album, i'm dissapointed that i didn't enjoy it because i thought i was starting to get into the whole doom/stoner/sludge thing...

this is pretty unique in terms of stoner music, maybe electric wizard or sleep or church of misery would be a better starting place

and no, just because we both have black metal slice in our pie charts does not equate to similar taste

don't be a faggot...BM, death metal, sludge, punk, it's close enough, do i really have to draw parallels...

and of that, i've listened to church of misery and really liked that. but i'm only 18, joined this site late last year, and have a fuckload of music to look into, so i'm trying to fid out which genres i like best before i jump in...

rasputin you should check out Battlefields... Minneapolis doom that's pretty tight

also this isn't really stoner/doom imo. more ambient.

Just couldn't get into this one, (despite being well-versed in the ways of the ganja) no matter how hard I tried...gonna give it a generous 3. However, ridiculously good job on the review Rasputin, definitely made me get up and check this band out, and I'll definitely be trying out their other stuff.

To be honest, if you found it hard to get into this I don't think you will have much luck with any of their other releases - there isn't too much variation through their discography. If you're determined though, give Pilgrimage a listen. If that doesn't do it nothing will.
