I guarantee I heard quite a few puke noises and patton-esque screams

On Urlo Negro, yeah.

I disagree with you on most of your points

which

Seems more like you tried to write his biography than a review on Mondo Cane.

Seems to me like you didn't read further than the intro.

And the replay value is much greater than you gave it credit for.

I've had it for quite a while and I'm pretty confident in my opinion that it doesn't have much. While I'm sure you're confident in yours (even though you haven't had it as long), that's what makes it an opinion. You can't measure replay value with any consistency, so while I'm glad you think it has more replay value than I do, I don't actually care.

As a fan of a lot of the music well before Patton put this together I really enjoy this project, but I don't enjoy this album as much as I do the video I have of a show from Amsterdam (I think it's the first Mondo Cane show outside of Italy).

Something about the video (even just listening to it) carries more atmosphere and energy than this does.

The magic they pulled in combining performances can kind of kill the atmopshere.

I agree. It reminds me of Zappa's albums in which he would take the best performances of each instrument/musician and layer them into a track that he would visualize as the epitome (at that point in time) of what he wanted to communicate, and it would work or sound better than any singular performance could give.

In this case it just rings a bit hollow, still great but not what I think it could have been. I'll bet it comes down to an economic issue for producing an album like this.

I've had the vinyl of this for about a month and finally listened to it today. It's basically California-era Mr. Bungle with italian. I liked it.

Good solid 4 songs on here. Was expecting a bit more out of this album. Those 4 good songs are magical though
