I'm starting to think that they'll never beat Waiter: You Vultures!
Don't get me wrong though, I've thoroughly enjoyed everything they've released.

It's good and whatnot but nothing special... meh, will still make it into my top 50 of the year, though.
|

Meh, I wouldn't give it any more than a 2.5

Just realized that Share With Me The Sun - from an instrumental standpoint - kinda sounds like You Are a Tourist by Death Cab for Cutie.

American Ghetto was awesome until i realized how underproduced it was... and how about a third of the album was completely forgettable.
Honestly, the only song on here that i'm not all that crazy about is Floating. Everything else ranges from good to amazing.

@KritikalMotion: There's no room for 2 Don Draper's on Sputnik. you know what you have to do.
@Klap: Great review, sir. As a fanboy, I concur with nearly everything you said. I think most of
P.tM's fans, and fans of the live show, are anxious and still holding out for that one record that
we all know that they still have in them. The one that incorporates their earlier experimentation
with the raw feel of their live show. Not that they do rush music as has been alleged, but perhaps
they could take a year off touring (they deserve it, especially after this year) and focus on a more
expansive record.
Can't agree enough with the sentiment about the vocals above. My friends and I were talking about
this. John is way too quick to go in falsetto overdrive these days. It was a lot more rewarding when
he would use it sparingly, say like in CC or Church Mouth. Can't say that I particularly enjoy the
post-production on his vocals on ItMItC. Would love to see Zach and Ryan with more group vocals
x100.
Speaking of production, I don't really care for the allure of the shiny new toys they got along with
this label deal. I rather much prefer the lo-fi production of their early work, like It's
Complicated Being A Wizard. And IMO, some of my favorite work of theirs, is actually their pre-
Waiter material: The unreleased Demos EP and the Under Waves of the Brown Coat EP. Every P.tM fan
deserves to hear this, which is why I will provide a link for them here:
