overall this a huge improvement from STYE, but it's nowhere near whoracle. the tracks get almost repetitive at times near the end, cept crawl through knives, and i really dont know what they were thinking when they wrote scream, cause that song doesnt fit in at all, and let alone its horrible anyway.

Great review. This album is unbeleivable. First time In Flames listeners should check out Clayman and Colony first but this is definitely an amazing record. I especially like the touch of the female vocalist in Dead End. Killer CD. 4.5/5This Message Edited On 02.28.06This Message Edited On 02.28.06

I think anybody has to admit that this album utterly slays STYE...which isn't to say that STYE was terrible or anything, but it sounded much more like Anders' side project, Passenger, than In Flames. It's almost as though Anders had a bunch of songs left over from the Passenger sessions (which were right before the STYE sessions), and convinced his bandmates to claim them as their own...
But anyway, the joy of CC is that it's loud, fast, unrepentantly heavy and melodic metal. It's the sound of a band remembering why they used to love playing fast and hard.
There's precious few weak tracks, IMO, with everything except Scream and the finale being headbang-inducing...Crawl Through Knives and Dead End are sweet, and Leeches may have the best chorus they've ever come up with...and who can resist smiling when they hear the cool-as-fuck bridge riff in Take This Life?
It's nice to have them back.

I have only downloaded three or four tracks from this but from my point of view, this album is a return to greatness for In Flames. The review was quality 'spoon of grimbo'.

Good album, I like it a lot. It's a big improvement over STYE and I like it more than Reroute too, but still not as good as other older albums.

Come Clarity is a great album. I enjoyed it substantially more than Soundtrack To Your Escape, but I'm not saying that STYE is necessarily a bad album. It's not a return to form, but definitely a big step in the right direction. Hightlights of the album IMO are Take This Life, Leeches, Crawl Through Knives, and Your Bedtime Story Is Scaring Everyone. I love every In Flames album, from Lunar Strain up to Come Clarity, but I'd have to say that my favorite is Reroute To Remain.

Definitely Whoracle, or Clayman. Although Reroute To Remain has some of their best songwriting, IMO, and was the album that got me into them...

every in flames has been amazing, but although whoracle is probably my favourite by just a little bit, colony and clayman offer the widest ranging showcase of their sound.

Jst got the album...and had a few listen in fact Im still listening to it. its not a 5 outta 5 album, but its definitely a solid metal album from In Flames. sum good songs and guitar work....and I like the clean vocal on this.....y duznt ppl like clean vocal ?

I didnt even mind STYE, it wasnt as bad as most ppl say it was.....in fact its a good thing they r trying out new things. I guess it wud be boring for musicans to stay wif the same style for a long time....after all In Flames has been out for a very long time.

but I think they hv moved away from Malodic death metal now... this album is more jst a stright up metal album

good solid album tho

This album is definetly better than STYE and RtR. Those were still pretty decent albums but this one is just too much compared to them. Also i think that they should've brought back the instrumentals that would've completed the album. My favorite track is probably vaccum the solo in that song is great.

This is my opinion, but I found STYE to be incredibly simplistic compared to former In Flames albums... It was just the same very average partern repeated over and over again in every song (with the exeption, my favorite from the album, Borders and Shading, which still has a very below average chorus). CC is therefore in my eyes a BIG improvement, even if it might be repetive at times it's a formula that works and is much closer to their roots then their previous album. Also, they experiment with some different genres making the album an interesting listen.

When are In Flames coming back to montreal?
