nice review,
whenever i play this album it always takes me back to my younger days and a girlfriend who go me into the ataris at the time..
got to see them live when they toured this album, was an amazing show. great band.

classic album for me. so many songs that meant a lot to me as a whiny little shitbag of a teenager.

5 it
but yeah, if we're talking purely from a nostalgia standpoint, this and Blue Skies are classics for me as well. I remember discovering this band as a teenager (before they went more mainstream with So Long, Astoria) and they were pretty much my favorite thing ever for a few years
I've given up hope that they'll ever release another proper full-length though. Good lord Kris Roe is the sloooowest person in the planet, just drop a new album already

Agreed. So Long Astoria kind of killed it for me when it came out. It did have that awesome cover song though.

How good is Summerwind though? Gaaaaaah

sort of. they were my favorite band in high school so they probably influenced my name whether subconsciously or not, haha
@osmark, indeed. tons of great songs on this. have you heard "Anywhere but Here"? The remaster for that one is pretty good - most the songs are less than 2 minutes

yeah these guys were one of my favourite bands back in high school as well. I've jammed Anywhere but here tons of times mate. fantastic album imo.

I liked this album quite a bunch it was just emotional and well played. So Long Astoria wasn't bad that I recall, but I never really tried to get into anything after it. I remember buying "So Long...." with a Dead Kennedys album actually haha I suppose it was their sell out album I guess but it didn't suck. I guess I hadn't heard it in so long. I remember that Boys of Summer cover ruled. Used to play it before I hit the bars actually.
