"as for Geoff's "plans" they sound menacing to say the least."
We'll have to bear him for a long while, it seems.
"I may pick Rage over Mindcrime"
Same!
"I'm not big on Empire"
Me neither, but I have some affection to it. "Another Rainy Night" is one of my favourite songs ever.

Just that I think PL is the most "progressive" Queensryche album, I guess is how to put it. Title track is probably the best example. It just seems that some of the songs could have been expanded upon, or added to to make a little more epic.
I admit though that I also like that album a lot more than most because of the theme, and it being released at a time when I was making some life changes and becoming a better person. So it stuck with me.

I prefer "Anybody Listening", despite Geoff's “dress” choice being ridiculous on the video ;)

"being released at a time when I was making some life changes"
yeah... I have albums that fit in that category as well, I get it.

PL is definitely their most progressive and Rage for Order is their best.

@SirDrumsalot: Agreed on everything you said, from the "progressive t/t" part to the album theme part, I have a lot of affection for the lyrics of "Damaged".
@Willie: Agreed again. Rage for Order has something that Mindcrime has not.

Promised Land and Empire are kind of equal to me. They both have their pros and cons. I like the atmosphere and lyrical themes on PL but it lacks power. Empire has some awesome tunes but sounds a little too polished for my taste.
Mindcrime and Rage for Order are their best, but each in its own way.
