And any other subsequent listens. I had that one song one repeat for the last few days. It's so good.

This is indeed fantastic. It's the album I wanted to hear all year - one that totally blows me away - and the funny thing is, if you hadn't reviewed this Jared, who knows how long this would've sat on my hard drive.

i'll tell ya it's surreal as hell seeing these ratings for what was practically an unknown group playing in a small tent on a pissing afternoon four years ago
nobody knew a single lyric and they garnered minimal applause at the end of their set

Yeah, I was pretty sure that since this band kind of took so long to get this album recorded after their debut nobody would care, since they hardly played live in that time as well. Incredible album though.
I thought their self titled was really good aswell though, except for the poor production obviously.
Always found it funny how the demo of South Street sounded a lot cleaner than anything on the debut, but at the same time, the rough feel was a good trait I think.
Also, if anyone likes this, they should definitely check out Friends In America, similar (ish, more indie focussed) style Scottish band, released an album last year and it's also incredible.
They supported TWBF at the release gig, and for a while I thought they were going to steal the show.
Also also, this version of Ash Wednesday is so good. You should have heard it live.

River might be the best song of 2013. Seriously. It just floors me everytime.

i'd say it is too but wish more of the album was like it
also the part in here is where when the backup vocalist comes in always gets me

I'm actually happy with River being the only song that is like that. I think it just sticks out more that way. The more subdued elements on the album work very well.
Actually the first three songs are perfectly arranged to make river shine as much as possible.

river is the obvious standout and then it's here is where but after that it's tough to decide
so stay close is gorgeous as fuck, your house was aglow is amazing...man
albums that come out of nowhere like this are so rare

indeed. Aside Stay close and Here is Where might be the next best thing for me.
Roots is amazing as well.

I feel like River's this album's 'We Were A Roman Candle' to be honest, which isn't a bad thing, it sounds like what WWARC wanted to sound like, but grown up a bit.
