They are. They had an actual person track all the drums and at some point lost all the recording data, pushed the album back like 6 or 8 months (FB page).
According to them it's all physically possible as that's what they were going for.
But yeah dem riffs. Cryptic Nightmares and the last two tracks before the closer are really something.
