i'll grant you it being boring or not is purely subjective so that was silly for me to say, but i maintain that it isn't predictable (at least it wasn't for me) nor formulaic. regardless of whether or not you like it, she's obviously doing different things here

but i mean come the fuck on dude u wrote a paragraph basically back-tracking every conversation you've had with people that dont like this album and just chalking it up to a couple extremely silly rationalizations that you know aren't true of the albums detractors here because we have talked about all this shit at great length in multiple threads.

thats literally just as subjective and i know you know this too and no im sorry but that last sentence is just 100% invalid. i've heard tonnes of bullshit exactly like this. besides, you yourself argued at great length that ~not everything needs to be new and different and push the envelope~ but now you are contradicting yourself by asserting that actually it is new and different and therefore good.

jfc can we stop trying to diagnose the people who don't like this and just accept the fact that they don't have to like this for any of your assumptions

best snox post in a long time

lol get a room

i didn't contradict myself. if i said things don't need to be new to be good and then said that they do, that would be a contradiction. this isn't super original but it's a new sound for her and she develops it in her on way.

you guys are right though. assumptions are never the way to go. people dislike it and it's cool, my bad.

This is kinda the worst kind of pop. Boring and predictable for sure, but who cares about that. Pop that isn't fun, catchy, or interesting... Why?

So, uh, what's with all these young attractive brunettes releasing indie-pop records?

I don't dislike it, just noticing it a lot lately...

2 internet points if you can name a significant amount of indie-pop records by young attractive brunettes from the last 3 years

lorde and chvrches are synth pop and you could pretty much call any synth pop indie pop so yeah those definitely work. meg myers could be called indie pop too.
