well, a lot don't make sense if you interpret them literally though.







granted, those idioms above are a bit odd. German idioms are terrible too, though. I mean we say things like "Schwein haben" (lit: "having pig", meaning:"being lucky"); "Hopfen und Malz verloren" (lit:"Hops and malt are lost"; meaning:"makes no sense anymore"); "einen Sockenschuss haben" (lit: "having a shot soc"; meaning "being menetally incapacitated"); there's also a whole bunch of idioms with apes and with apples.
