Not a bad listen. Though, anyone else think Anthony sounds pretty bad on this record? His voice is just so thin and delicate, zero power.

He may be the worst thing here besides the fact Chad was turned into a drum machine. His vocal work in Detroit is LOL bad.

My jaw was actually on the floor when the goodbye angels outro kicked in.

This is a very easy listen, and probably more interesting than the predecessor. Don't really get the hate for accessible, pretty, diverse modern rock that's really very inoffensive to any music listener.

@nickslip: I though Anthony sounded better here than on the last. His voice sounded really thin there. For a singer in his 50s though, it could be worse.

they all sound so tired and worn down... It's not necessarily a bad thing, but they need to own that shit.

I can understand someone being disappointed if they compare it to their best albums, but these guys are obviously in a completely different place now than they were 10-30 years ago during their heyday. For what this and even I'm With You are, it's not bad music at all.

It's not a fantastic album or anything obviously. Knowing their history and everything they've gone through, I guess I'm just being forgiving for how the band is still going, and clearly love what they do, if you see their most recent interviews.

Yeah I might've mentioned earlier in the thread that I found the sterilization of Chad's drumming the most disappointing thing about this, but at least the production is improved. This has more personality and diversity than I'm With You too. Josh has some great moments, like the end of Dark Necessities and Go Robot, which is even more rockin' live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=397wYWahcGo

Talons, the fact that it's so inoffensive throughout is what kind of drags it down tbh. I'm giving this another chance, album could grow on me, but so far it seems average.

This sounds underwhelming to me so far. Plodding, annoying, bland. Some interesting moments, well produced. Lyrically maybe the worst from Kiedis i've heard, though haven't listened to their most recent album (prior to this). Even his singing isn't with any conviction, doesn't sound like his heart is in it.

Thankfully the new Radiohead is fantastic.

Oh well they've made some great music in the past. Remember the good times. Give those a spin every once in awhile.

Ok Hunter i kind of like, first song from this i can say that honestly.

C'mon though, the production here destroys I'm with you and cali. As much as I adore californicatiom, the album sounds like dogshit.

Huh? Production is the only thing it has going for it. "Handclaps n shit" are not part of production lol. Producers don't choose what instruments etc. to use, they decide how these things sound.

Bass sounds fine to me. Drums have no guts because the drumming on it is a joke.

I have no clue wtf the point of your post is.
