I mean I love metal but one of its hugest drawbacks is that oftentimes the songs all sound the same. I love nightside eclipse by emperor but every song sounds the damn same

If you enjoy monotony, then you'll def enjoy the "Unholy trilogy". I'm more for BM bands who include ambient/atmospheric/acoustic sections and/or whole songs in the album to kinda break up the routine.
That said, I do enjoy the occasional Darkthrone or Mayhem every now and then...
