Arguably Rotting Christ has been straying away from the classic "Hellenic BM" sound utilized on their first three records or by of course Varathron and Necromantia.
This album with the emphasis on old school riffs, growling vocals and spectral keyboards is closer to that classic sound as opposed to the more ritualistic pounding folklike and orchestral-heavier style Rotting Christ has been playing for some time now.
