Ha! Gryndstone keep posting your impressiond about the bands catalogue on this thread. I want to see how you react to the stylistic shifts in reverse

yeah, probably start backwards from Animal and give us your reaction with each album - it'd be pretty entertaining

It's funny cos they also have an album called Grindstone. You gotta work your way to that one Gryndstone!

Their best imho is OneOneOne, although they're critically acclaimed mostly for Blackjazz, OneOneOne is where they nailed the industrial/metal/catchy chorus bit the most. IBS was mostly a repraisal/milder version of OneOneOne

How's the journey going Gryndstone?

I went to my local HMV the other day looking for some bargains since they're going under

There was a small table in the vinyl section of all the records on sale, with the sign being "Vinyl from £9.99". Not only was Animal in abundance in that bargain bin, but it was reduced from £19.99 to £8.99 - it was worth less than the signposted price

It was literally the cheapest full length LP going in the entire store - how embarrassing

That just makes me feel bad for Jørgen Munkeby. The guy has been one of the most adventurous musicians of his era, with seemingly little success, then he attempts to go mainstream with even less success. The guy doesn't deserve this.

He looked pretty dismal as well when I saw them live, like his soul left or something. The fact he sent all of us a pm on facebook to buy the fucking tickets already was also really sad

they wanted to do a full blackjazz mini tour but apparently it fell through

We gotta differentiate here: jorgen Munkeby doesn't deserve being bargain bin and lack of success at all, having given us great albums and even greater live shows.

But' Animal' actually DOES deserve every kind of humiliation...

What a live performance these guys put on when I saw them nearly a decade ago.
